Diving head first into this subject ... I'll be doing a YouTube video about this as well, but needed the quiet space to get what's in my head out in writing...as there seems to be A LOT that needs saying on this subject. "LOVE" - a seemingly simple word, one most of us say at least once a day. I'll say this right now though, we do not understand the POWER of this word, nor it's energy...not even close, yo! My hope here is to plant a seed of awareness of what this energy actually is. It'll blow your mind, it'll knock your socks off, it'll change the way you approach the concept of L-O-V-E. LOVE is not a word. It's NOT a noun; nor is it merely SEX. It's not meant to be degraded into a label - or something that is presented lightly. Many many many make this error...innocently of course, as we are not taught, nor shown, the ultimate power of this word. Amazing really. WHAT IS IT THEN??? To put it in laymen terms, and if it were to be a word, it would be a verb. The original action of CREATION itself! The darkness (feminine) before it presented itself (masculine), transformed itself, into LIGHT. It's the "original" source of EVERYTHING that is and everything that shall be, ever was and moving forward to whatever and wherever it moves. The nature of this energy is unadulterated, unfathomable, incomprehensible in its totality ... the perfect balance, alignment and centeredness. It also contains within itself the duality of the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine...again, in PERFECT balance and harmony. Think Yin/Yang energy, one can not exist without the other. The light and the dark, integrated into one FORCE - THE FORCE (Star Wars understood this). Both are needed. This is the HOLY marriage written about in so many scriptures through ancient writings, through all cultures. Let us not forget there was a time when our ancestors, and spiritual ancestors, understood this balance and actually honored it for what it "IS" - the "I AM" that is spoken about in many spiritual teachings, stated in various different ways. I'll stick with the "I AM", for most have heard this phrase, and its a "go to" here in the west. Trust me though, there many many words and phrases describing this sacred energy in every culture, around the globe, throughout all of history. Somewhere along the line, LOVE became blurred. Perhaps it was intentional to blur the truth. Humans started to sequester the power and balance of this energy. It seems to have fallen, right along with us, into this 3D realm we "think" is actual reality. It's not reality... LOVE has become so battered, so perverse, too many labels, imbalanced - first within ourselves, to where we don't recognize it any longer. We have taken the Holy sexual union and dropped it down into the dirt of desire, greed and often times ... war. Where war exists, love does not - starting within yourself. It ALWAYS starts within yourself. Love is bastardized through our media, hollywood, music, religions, politics - and very sadly, our homes. We as a collective, no longer honor who and what we really are. Very few recognize who they actually are, completely lost, trapped and enslaved to the human experience. No longer able to connect with their Spirit. No longer able to channel that energy...and so love has become just a word, an energy we don't practice often enough, and for many, not at all. If I were to ask you how many hours a day you spend in a state of LOVE, vs. how many hours you spend in your thoughts and emotions - what would your answer be? If I were to ask you how many hours you spend seeking your Spirit vs. chasing the proverbial 3D life, what would you say? If I were to ask how many of you at least live a balance between Spirit vs. Human, what would you say? Do your actions come from Spirit (love), or do they come from the Human (ego) trying to build a good 3D life here (I'm not saying a good life is not what we should be trying to achieve, only that we invite Spirit into that creation)? These are VERY important questions to answer for yourself. How else are you to know where you are currently vibrating at, what you are drawing to you ... what you are creating for yourself? Seriously, contemplate this. The "ACTION" needed right now?: 1. Take FULL RESPONSIBILITY for yourself, always and IN all-ways! 2. Take note of what you think about. If your thoughts are negative, violent, vengeful, critical, low resonating - I guarantee, LOVE is missing in the equation - not sometimes, but EVERY TIME. 3. When you speak, what do you speak? Are you gossiping and talking down to others? Are you manipulating situations for personal gain, lying, cursing, damning others, judging who and what someone is? Again, LOVE is missing in this equation. 4. Take note of your emotions in every situation. Are you scared, nervous, depressed, confused, lost, hateful, jealous, etc ... LOVE is missing in this equation. 5. What information are you allowing into your energy fields? - quality of music, media, reading material, people in your life? Is LOVE in this equation? The first action needed lies within SELF AWARENESS. We are unable to move into the energy of SPIRIT if we are lost in not knowing where we are with ourselves in the RIGHT NOW! Makes sense, right? Pretty damn simple to do too if you're willing to humble up and be honest with yourself. LOVE - Breaking the Chains! 1. Take FULL RESPONSIBILITY for yourself, always, and in all-ways! 2. Assess where you are right now, based on the questions asked above, and decide if this is where you want to be. Seriously, take your time with this exercise. 3. Understand how sacred, how incomprehensibly SACRED, your Spirit and Soul is. You are not who you "think" you are. 4. Then understand how sacred everyone around you is - whether they recognize themselves or not. Try not to get disturbed with how out-of-touch your brothers and sisters are here. Hold your focus on YOU...for now. 5. Pick up a serious practice of Soul searching and Spirit definition. 6. Start experimenting with allowing every thought, every emotion and every action to float through the screen/veil/filter of your Spirit. 7. Verbally give permission for your Spirit to intervene when your Soul is traveling off it's path. Surrender to the assistance that is then given. It'll always be for your highest. For those of you who do not identify with the Spirit or the Soul, you can still practice this mindset by running your thoughts, words and actions through the filter of "KINDNESS". Whether we/you are Spiritual or not, there is a rule to follow - HARM TO NO ONE. Always. Practice this and I promise, your world, your perceived reality?...will change. Once you experience THAT change, there is no going back. You can no longer disregard the power, the force, the original creative energy of LOVE (the raw power of sexual energy). I'll write a separate blog entry about "sexual energy", as it too, will blow your mind. It's not what you think it is. I'll let this one rest here, although I could keep writing ... perhaps this entry is Part 1. As always, these words are here for you to grow, contemplate, share with others; I will continue to share my explorative path as I travel it.

Photo Credit: Brad Travis, 2020 It took a tremendous amount of SURRENDER(ing) this past year, to where I find myself feeling the "promise" in the air, now.
...this feeling of promise has been showing itself all year actually. In both big and small ways, PROMISE, has made itself known. I chose to take notice and decided that I'd let it show me what it meant. The unfolding moments as the days, weeks and months past away this year, shows me a clear path of promise and opportunity. It seems I'm not alone in feeling this way either. Turning to electronic communications allowed me to touch base with many people, who too, are feeling that promise. I started this blog awhile ago, but really dug into it this year... A. I've had the time to dedicate to it B. It's been on my list for a long time C. Many big things need divine timing I can say I've surrendered to many aspects of my thoughts, my emotions and Spiritual path this year of 2020 as I found myself right smack in the middle of a HISTORICAL time. I happened to choose "Surrender" as my word for the year. Yep ... divine timing at it's finest. I chose the word Surrender in December 2019. Little did I know, this was either an omen of what was coming, or a clear message from my guides that I'm going to have to let go of some rocks in the river and let it carry me through any rapids, switch backs ... the soft bends. My feeling now is it was a little of both. The first thing I allowed myself to do, was to engage in some good ol grassroots clearing and healing...and then I dove into the hard work. You can read about some of those experiences in my previous blog entries (see archives). This year provided the perfect platform to perform a personal over-haul of everything I know myself to be and also learn what I'm truly made of. I grew - ALOT! ... and here I am, planning for my future because it feels and looks very promising. I lost many things that I held dear to me, and chose to let go of others (including relationships). I closed these aspects out with gratitude of the lessons, and love in my heart. Not all of them felt good, while others sent me down rabbit holes where I explored even deeper meanings to connections and certain patterns. My work isn't done ... I have accepted my inner work is never done, however, I've learned how to keep moving, on the inside, with the soul journey. The Soul journey is what we're on. The Soul knows where it's going. Sometimes it's good to SURRENDER to that process and allow ourselves to flow with the Great Wheel, lest we be crushed by it. As 2021 creeps closer ... and I take space to choose a new word for the year, I believe I will spend the last couple days here and Surrender what I have left. Seems fitting ... CHEERS! BE WELL, STAY WELL! SPIRITUAL BYPASS - a term coined by psychotherapist, John Welwood - RIP.
He defined this phenomenon as using “spiritual ideas and practices to sidestep personal, emotional ‘unfinished business,’ to shore up a shaky sense of self, or to belittle basic needs, feelings, and developmental tasks.” The goal of these practices is to achieve spiritual enlightenment. Some of you may also know this practice as cognitive dissonance. Because I work mainly on a spiritual level with individuals, I prefer the definition of Spiritual Bypass over CD. When I heard it, it was a "That's IT!" moment. As I've been moving through this year of deep healing, this concept hit at the perfect time for me in my process. I literally STOPPED to ask myself, "Where do I spiritually bypass? Am I spiritually bypassing in any area?" Well, because I'm human, that answer was yes - not across the board, thank God, but in some areas that could be detrimental to my growth had I not come across this lesson. Spiritual bypassing hits deep once we remove the practice of it. By stopping this process, it rips the scab off wounds of our mental and spiritual states, exposing us to our raw, vulnerable, often times infantile states of being. How have I Spiritually Bypassed? 1. Reading, studying, researching spiritual practices, but not practicing them fully. Not putting them through my filters to see if they are actual practices that I vibe with, believe in, or even suit me in my journey. 2. Writing down "to do" lists for growth, then stalling myself, distracting myself, before I complete the goal. 3. Allowing, and even creating, distractions that counter the inner work I want to do. Spiritual growth and healing is very messy work. Very messy ... and can be extremely painful. It's why most hesitate from this process and choose instead to seek and look outside of themself for comfort. Comfort is a good word for Spiritual Bypassing. 1. Go to a guru and get lifted with positive messages. 2. Attend a high power/energy retreat that gets the adrenaline going and leaves you feeling empowered for a weekend. 3. Go to church and feel community for an hour. 4. Listen to a podcast or lecture on all we need to do is "think positive" and all our troubles will melt away. 5. Change your vibration and you can't be touched. All these sound good, and they are all very healthy things to do - YES! No argument there - but there is a HUGE piece missing here in these processes. I've seen many speak away their weaknesses and trespasses by stating, "well, we're all sinners", or "just fill your heart with love, it conquers all", or "let's just clean-slate it". Sorry folks, it just doesn't work like that. If it did, we'd be living in a whole different reality with each other. If it were that easy ... It's not easy, I guarantee you that. The process of Spiritual Enlightenment is getting down into the mud with yourself and staying there in it until you realize how the spiritual dysfunction got there to begin with. I promise you, most of how it got there is by your own doing ... and this is what people don't like to look at. We like to point away from ourselves (projection), we prefer to blame someone else for our trespasses, our pain, our sorrow. By allowing yourself to sit in your mud, you begin to take notice how it was "you" that allowed many of these things to happen. It was "you" that actually manifested these situations for yourself...and OH, how discombobulating this realization is. How utterly humbling to know we are the ones that opened the door for pain upon ourselves. Spiritual enlightenment forces us to take responsibility, take ownership of our actions and mental state. It forces us to clean up our act, so to speak. There is absolutely NO WAY to escape the process of digging into your shadow for true healing and spiritual growth. There are NO SHORTCUTS, there are NO BYPASSES. One can not cheat the system of Universal Law. There is NO WAY of getting out easy. Again, healing is hard work. Hard-ass-work. WORK!, not la-la lets pretend like all is well in the world - NO - you cheat yourself out of the joy of truly understanding yourself and toughing through the dementia of your mind. There is nothing more blissful than eating your own mudpie, wiping your mouth clean and claiming your prize of healing. How do you know you've succeeded in healing?, when you don't have to TRY to think positive thoughts. When you don't have to TRY to not be angry or sad or depressed or defeated. When you don't have to run to the next "ra-ra" retreat to get a fix of positive affirmation. When you don't have to fill your world with memes and constant reminders that you are worth something - instead, you write/create them for other people. You lead others into their mud and tell them they are not alone. You stand tall and have a natural air of compassion about you. You no longer have to quote the Masters as your daily speech, because you've cultivated your own divine language for yourself. People now quote you! There is plenty to fear by turning inward, as most don't have a clue of who they are. I was told once that should I decide to take that inner journey into the self, be prepared to be horrified at what I'll find and discover. Many spiritual cultures refer to this type of spiritual quest as going down into the dark caves of Hades. The only way to enter, is to enter completely naked, with only the torch of your inner-light guiding the way. There will be many shadows and many echoes trying to push one back from the forward course...but when you realize those shadows are your shadows and the echoes stem from your own demented ego, the fear starts to dissipate and we start to see the light at the end...but at first, it is horrifying. I know, as I've been there. One must go down before one comes up. It's the Law. What is the payoff? There are many many payoffs to doing this kind of work. The main one, is truly knowing yourself. You will never question again your value, who you are, where you came from, what your purpose is. This is huge and a gift that no one can give you...nor can anyone take it away. Spiritual Bypassing is a band-aid. It works for a time, before it falls off and another has to be applied. At some point, you have to remove the bandage and let the wound "air out" so it can heal properly. My recommendation for anyone who desires to travel a quest of healing like this ... do make sure you have some outside support from a therapist, a spiritual coach, or practitioner who can help guide you through some of the deeper traumas. It's helpful to have someone you trust, but also qualified to help navigate through the distortions of the mind. Once most of the thick, sick, ill-filled mud has been cleared, one can usually take off on their own and develop their own unique Spiritual calling. In love and light, I share these words with you. It is my hope that each and every one of you that reads these posts, pulls a seed or two from them. Create them however you desire. There is never a right or wrong way - our paths are individual and unique. Until next time - Be well, Stay well |
